Featured Cat

5 to 7 year old black DSH.  She was left behind in a home with Bianca.  Madge is front declawed.  She enjoys sitting in our windows and watching the birds come and go out of our trees.  She can get spooked easily but we think that it is still an adjustment for her.  Like Bianca, Madge enjoys playing with all of our kitties here at the shelter.  Madge is also a lot of luv.....17 lbs of luv!!!!!  She is more of a lap kitty.  She just craves the human touch and will turn herself inside out when you pet her!

Piper came to us as a stray and is approximately 1 to 2 years old. Her nickname is Miss Sassy Pants as she thinks that she can just "rule the roost" around here and she is quickly learning from the "veterans" that she just can't do that! Piper loves to play. She is not too fond of the other cats yet but we think that once she got adjusted in a home, it would be different. Piper can get vocal when she wants something like food, water or just plain ol' attention!

Gracie is a younger female.  She is the momma to the 3 little black kitties we have here.  She was found as a stray and we think that she had been a stray for most of her life.  She is learning to trust the human and is getting better with us interacting with her.  She likes to watch all the other cats play but she hasn't quite decided yet if she wants to make friends with any of them.  We think for now, she would do best in a home with older children and possibly a more quiet home.

Tiger is a 3 to 5 year old male brown tabby. He looks gloomy in his picture but he just doesn't like the camera! He is a very playful cat and yet is kind of low key. He enjoys other cats and dogs and has lived with a small child before as well. Tiger would be a great starter pet as he is such low maintenance and a minimal shedder. He would just require some food, water, litter box, and a nice window with some good sun coming though so he can stay tan!

Jill is 3 to 5 years old. She was a house cat that was surrendered to us due to unforeseen circumstances. Jill did live with a dog and kids but would fight with the dog and keep a big distance from the kids. Getting to know her here, we think that she would be most happy in a home as an only pet. She does not like to be picked up and carried around at all. Jill likes everything to be on her terms and she wants what she wants when she wants it! No ifs, ands, or buts about it! One thing that we have noticed is that Jill will turn herself inside and out for some wet food or treats! So, if you want to stay in her good graces, keep that on hand at all times!!

Young DSH orange Tabby. She seems very friendly.  We do not know about other cats at this point or dogs.  She will most likely be ok with other cats, but a slow introduction would be best.

2 year old male Siamese mix. This guy has had a tough time here because he was adopted but then things just didn't work out before he even got to go home. Now he is patiently waiting for another family to fall in love with him! He loves to play with our other male cats and he is fairly quiet and low maintenance. Lucky likes to play with toy balls and goes crazy for some cat nip!

This boy has quite a history.  He lost an eye and a leg when he was a kitten, then lost part of his ear more recently. He was adopted out a few months ago, but had trouble getting along with the other kitties in the home.  He’s ready to take another run at a furever home.  He’s a sweet, affectionate boy once he warms up to a person. Do you have room in your heart and your home for him?

Samson came to us as a stray.  He is a DSH black cat with white chest and belly.  This guy is pretty comical.  He likes to roll over on his belly when you walk past him--funny!  He's a quiet cat.  He doesn't seem to like to be in a confined area but he is patiently waiting for a new home.  He likes the cats around here; we have not tested him with any dogs yet.  Did well with kids over the weekend so we think he would do well in just about any home!

Lola is approximately 6 years old. She is a unique cat with extra toes! She would do best in a quiet environment. She is such a sweet girl, it just takes her awhile to come out of her "shy shell". She hardly meows but when she does....she does it to be heard! Lola is such a beautiful cat with warm eyes that just melt your heart!

5 to 7 year old DSH sleek black kitty.  Fancy is pretty social and enjoys playing.  She lived with other cats and a dog and would do very well with either.  Fancy is a very quiet cat, hardly ever meows!  She is such a lover!

6 yr old grey tabby female. This beautiful girl is very vocal and lets you know when she needs something. She has lived with young children and also with other cats. We are unsure how she would do around dogs. She should do great just about anywhere!

1 or 2 year old black and white DMH. This guy is so stinking funny! He is in his own world and we humans just live in it. He is always off doing his own thing. If you stop and pet him, great. If not, that's cool with him, too! He is such a low maintenance cat and would make a great starter pet for any family. He seems to really like the kids who have come out to visit him. He enjoys looking out the windows and that's when you see the most movement out of him--watching those darn birds wondering how he can get those through a window!

5 to 7 year old grey tabby DSH.  She was left behind in a home with who we think is her sister, Madge.  Bianca weighs in at almost 20lbs but she is in good health.  She is front declawed.  She is such a lover and enjoys laying in the sun catching some rays!  Bianca likes being around all of our other cats but she is quite spooked if a dog comes walking by!  She has such beautiful markings.  Bianca likes to do her own thing but still likes to get her attention.

Nemo is 8 years old and she is something special!  She is a fur ball and loves attention.  She seems to do alright with the kittens that she is sharing a room with.  Nemo is front declawed and she is a talker!  She does not do well with younger children....as she likes to keep things on her terms!  What a beautiful girl!
